WATERCOLOR: Let the Medium Do It
by Valfred Thëlin with Patricia Burlin
Thelin's father and grandfather were both artists and all three artists were trained using European art instruction methods. The explanations are concise and backed up with excellent photos. There are useful exercises (some quite intriguing) at the end of each chapter. Included in the book are images of the Thelin's work but also of other artists and all of the artists explain the techniques used to create their image. Razor blade sketching and the bucket stroke to draw quick figures were new to me.
